Do I need a studio to record a podcast?

When is recording at home good enough?
For most interview and solo shows. Soft furnishings, a closed door and a microphone close to your mouth beat an expensive room with bad technique. Recording each speaker on their own track gives the editor room to fix problems.
When is a studio worth it?
- You want everyone around one table.
- You need a specific camera look for a video podcast.
- A guest has no usable setup at home.
- You are recording a special episode or a live event.
What does studio coordination include?
We find and book third-party studio time, coordinate the details with the studio and make sure the recording fits your edit. Stimulate does not operate its own studio. See our pricing page.
Can a live producer join a studio session?
Yes. The producer can join remotely to monitor audio and video and take timestamp notes, just as in a home session.
When is a studio worth it?
A studio makes sense when you want a polished multi-camera look, have several people in the same room, or do not have a quiet space with good light. For many shows, remote recording works well and costs less. We can help you decide on the discovery call.
What does coordination cover?
